The Historic Grandstand continues to provide patrons with the best seat to appreciate the breathtaking view of the Port Augusta racecourse with the majestic Flinders Ranges as the backdrop. As the only Sand Based TAB Track in South Australia, Port Augusta thoroughbred racing offers patrons a unique and exciting race day experience.
The renowned City of Port Augusta Cup is the major community event on Port Augusta’s social calendar, attracting thousands of race goers from far and wide.
There are a variety of social and corporate marquee packages which can be tailored to suit your needs. Hospitality packages sell quickly at our feature event so be sure to book early and secure your location for a great day at The Races.
FREE entry for Kids Under 18 and FREE kids entertainment including Jumping Castle, Face Painting and Archie the Stable Stars horse will be making an appearance!

The Port Augusta Bus Service will have a number of pick-ups on the morning of the City of Port Augusta Cup.

CUP EVE DINNER
The traditional Cup Eve Dinner is an entertaining evening with racing stories from past era. An auction also takes place on the night with prizes donated by a number of generous sponsors.
We are excited to announce that this year's special guest is Mr Greg Miles, the legedary race caller who retired this year in April after calling a record 36 Melbourne Cups. Greg will entertain you with some great stories of his illustrious career.
