Race 3 – Gold Topaz

If this colt lines up here, he looks mighty hard to beat off his last-start run in the Listed Batman Stakes at Flemington over 1800m. He ran on strongly from the tail behind Different Gravy, who looks a very classy horse. Despite stepping up to open company, this guy has plenty of upside and is nicely weighted to win.

Race 4 – Vexatious Dancer

Nicole Irwin’s mare is very good on her day, and she finds a very winnable race here. She returns from a trip to Moonee Valley and drops in grade against a group of horses who aren’t exactly in top form. The 1200m trip is a slight query, but I’m backing her talent to get the job done today.

Race 5 – Imposing Suspect

This looks a nice race for Imposing Suspect. He returned in good order at metropolitan level first-up, finishing only 2.2L off Snoopy Now. He always improves with a run under his belt, having only missed the placings once in five second-up runs. Down in grade and should be fighting out the finish with Connor Murtagh on board.
