Jamestown Cup Preview

The historic Jamestown Cup is on Saturday 30 September and is the ideal way to start the October Long Weekend. A massive day of racing is planned with plenty of fun and action off the track too, set amongst the beautiful mid-north of South Australia.

Jamestown sits 220 kilometres north of Adelaide surrounded by idyllic farmland, with a thriving local community. Beautiful Spring weather is anticipated for this wonderful day out in the rural South Australia, with the long weekend as a bonus, there is really no excuse not to make the day of it and head to the Jamestown Cup.

The racing is expected to be exciting and closely contested, with a six-race card including the Jamestown Cup which will be battled out over 1800 meters.  The 1800m feature race of the day will give punters the opportunity to see the horses thunder down the home straight before completing a full lap of the track. The nature of the track allows for great viewing even when the racing action is on the far side of the track.

Off the track there is plenty to enjoy throughout the day. There will be hotly contested Fashion at the Races with multiple categories up for grabs. The Fashions kick off after Race 3 and continue over the course of the day.

Food will be plentiful with food trucks available and other food options plus plenty of drinks options at the Public Bar and Wine Bar. Secure your hospitality package today with the option of the Good Paddock grazing platter or a spot in The Tack Room with entertainment all afternoon and canapés on arrival.

Whilst the Jamestown Cup may be clashing with the AFL Grand Final, don’t fret, as a big screen on course will be showing the action from the MCG as the afternoon progresses!

Don’t miss out on this historic country cup in the heart of South Australia’s mid-north farming region.
