SA pair nominated for Country Racing Victoria Horse of the Year

Two South Australian gallopers are in the running for the title of 2022-23 Country Racing Victoria Horse of the Year.

Travis Doudle’s Not Usual Glorious and Muntham Missile, trained in Mount Gambier by Belinda O’Loughlin, have been nominated for the award.

Not Usual Glorious claimed three features while running second in the Warrnambool Cup while Muntham Missile won two country features and finished second in another two.

The winner will be announced at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre on Saturday, 19 August 2023.

Country Racing Victoria Horse of the Year Finalists

Muntham Missile - Belinda O’Loughlin

Jumped the border to win the Hamilton and Apsley Cups as well as placings in both the Mortlake and Penshurst Cups.

Not Usual Glorious - Travis Doudle

Won three Victorian country features including the Benalla, Terang and Swan Hill Cups while also finishing runner-up in the Warrnambool Cup.

Bannerton - Austy Coffey

Claimed the Manangatang and Hanging Rock Cups as well as placings in the St Arnaud and Nhill Cups.

All nominees will receive a Hygain prize pack containing a number of Hygain products.
