She's Greysful set for SA debut

Aaron Bain is hoping the change of environment can help former West Australian filly She’s Greysful recapture her juvenile form when she makes her local debut at Murray Bridge on Saturday.

Previously with former Fremantle AFL star Hayden Ballantyne, She’s Greysful boasts some very good WA form around the likes of star filly Amelia’s Jewel and Sheza Belter and won their Magic Millions 2YO Classic last season.

“She’s a lovely little filly,’’ Bain said.

“If she can return to that two-year-old form she’s going to be a nice filly for our stable.

“Her form has fallen away a little bit, we’ve treated her like a nice horse, giving her a fresh start and she jumped out well,’’ he said.

She’s Greysful is marked a $13 chance with tab.com.au in a race that is dominated by impressive last-start winner Bristler who firmed into a $1.85 favourite on Friday following the scratching of Storyteller.

“She pinged out in her jump out which she hasn’t done in her past couple of starts, so that was encouraging,’’ Bain said.

“It’s a nice race to kick her off in, there are some nice horses there, but we’ll get a good guide of what we have going forward.

“Horses don’t’ lose their ability, they sometimes just need a change and we’re hoping that might be the case for her,’’ he said.

Bain will be hoping his good form can continue with two winners from his last three runners to the races, Metro Legend scoring impressively on the Parks last Saturday before Sir Toop spaced rivals at Port Augusta on Sunday securing a ticket to the Northern Territory for the Darwin Cup Carnival.

Sir Toop relished the dirt surface to win by 4.7 lengths and Bain has the $75,000 Darwin Guineas in his sights.

“He’s heading up there on Monday,’’ Bain said.

“He won nicely the other day so hopefully he can take that form up there,’’ he said.
