Victorian mare Passive Aggressive has firmed into a $4 favourite to win Saturday’s $502,250 Group 1 Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m) at Morphettville after drawing the inside alley.
The Grahame Begg-trained mare is now a $4 favourite with tab.com.au after landing barrier one, in contrast Chris Waller’s September Run, who finished third behind Snapdancer last year, will have to overcome the extreme outside drawing gate 14.
Ciaron Maher and David Eustace have three chances at consecutive Sangster victories, Bella Nipotina, the second pick in the market at $4.50 drew perfectly in barrier five on the back of her last start third in The Quokka in Perth, with Marabi (barrier seven) listed at $8 and Ruthless Dame (gate 12) marked at $13.
The Godolphin runner Zapateo is marked an $7 chance with Damien Oliver to ride while the second of the Chris Waller-trained runners Espiona faired marginally better drawn in barrier 11.
Local mare Diamonds drew in the middle in barrier six while Leon Macdonald and Andrew Gluyas’ Another Award will start from barrier 13 in the race she finished fourth in last year.
Todd Pannell will partner Seradess for the Mark and Levi Kavanagh stable.
