Weekend wrap: Allen wraps up feature, Williams and Voorham star

John Allen dedicated his sixth South Australian Group 1 success aboard Affaire A Suivre in Saturday’s Australasian Oaks to Dean Holland.

It was during COVID when Allen and Holland for a friendship while isolating together in Adelaide to ride during the 2020 carnival.

“I’d like to dedicate that to Dean Holland and his family,’’ Allen said.

“Three years ago we become close friends isolating during COVID here in Adelaide.

“You couldn’t have picked a better family to spend two weeks locked in a house with, so I really want to dedicate it to them,’’ he said.

Perth filly She’s Fit was brave in defeat denying Craig Williams a third win for the day.

Williams claiming the Group 3 Breeders' Stakes for the two-year-olds aboard Treasurway and the Group 3 Chairman’s Stakes with the Peter Moody-trained Red Sun Sensation.

Williams shared riding honours with Teagan Voorham, in her last meeting riding as an apprentice.

Voorham won early in the day aboard Dash It for the Chris Bieg stable before she continued her amazing record on South East stayer Hasta La War who returned to winning for in the Port Adelaide Cup.

Hasta La War's eight career wins have all come with Voorham in the saddle.

At Naracoorte on Sunday Dylan Caboche and Sam Payne shared riding honours with a pair of doubles.

Caboche won the opening race on Sir Arminius for James and Lisa Dodgson and aboard the John Hickmott and Carrina Riggs-trained May’s West while Payne scored on the Garret Lynch-trained Eclair Rhythm before giving the Hickmott/Riggs stable a second win for the day when Bella Soo claimed the last.
