What’s On February 2023

February may be a shorter month but there is a tonne of racing action! There are a number of Cups to be won this month, and plenty of racing happening all around South Australia.

MiniJumbuck Naracoorte Cup – Sunday 12th February  

This year, the 2023 MiniJumbuck Naracoorte Cup will be held on 12 February 2023. It’s the perfect excuse to have a weekend away in wine country!

Whether it’s eating delicious food, enjoying wonderful local wines, letting the kids run wild with a number of kids’ activities on offer, or seeing if you can back a winner for the Cup – there is something for everybody at the Naracoorte Cup!

Sealink Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival – Thursday 16 February - Saturday 18 February

The iconic Sealink Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival returns this February and is set to be an amazing event, one not to be missed!

There are two full days of racing with plenty of action happening off the track too!

On the Thursday enjoy the more relaxed atmosphere as horses from far and wide race at the Cygnet River track on Day One of the Kangaroo Island Racing Carnival ahead of Saturday's Dudley Wines Kangaroo Island Cup.

Saturday is the main event with an action-packed day of racing, food, wine, local gins and Fashion at the Races. Join a crowd of over 3000 people at the Cygnet River track on Kangaroo Island and celebrate all that is great about country racing as the Kangaroo Island Racing Club turns 140 years old (1883-2023) as the best horses from South Australia and interstate race for the $25,000 Dudley Wines Kangaroo Island Cup.

There are a number of Fashion at the Races categories to enter in to and wonderful prizes to be won! So why not show off your style and flair by competing in Fashion at the Races. There is also plenty of activities for the kids to stay entertained all day!

Port Lincoln McDonald's Peninsula Cup – Sunday 19 February

Cup racing returns to Port Lincoln with the prelude to the Port Lincoln Cup in March. The McDonald’s Peninsula Cup is the latest drawcard on the Eyre Peninsula racing calendar. With a full day of fabulous food, wine and racing set to the stunning backdrop of the waters around Port Lincoln.

There are a number of package options that let you indulge in delicious food and wonderful drinks all from the comfort of the Function Centre overlooking the home straight.

This is an Eyre Peninsula event not to be missed as the Port Lincoln Racing Club begins to build up to the Port Lincoln Cup in March!

PL Whats On Feb

Lock Cup – Sunday 26 February

Known across the Eyre Peninsula as the Oakbank of the West Coast, the Lock Racing Club hosts its annual Cup Day on 26 February and its set to be an exciting day of country racing. The event draws people in from all over the region and is always a memorable day.

There will be plenty of action on the track and also off the track with Fashion at the Races plus plenty of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy. It’s also a great opportunity for kids to get up close to the racing…a great opportunity for any budding jockeys in the crowd!

Lock Whats On Feb

What else is on?

Around the state there is plenty of exciting racing events happening across February. Murray Bridge kicks off the month with some mid-week action (1 February). Then, racing returns to Port Lincoln after a hiatus with Friday Night Twilight Races (3 February). Bordertown hosts a Sunday race (5 February), while there are mid-week race meetings at Gawler (8 February), Strathalbyn (15 February) and Mount Gambier (22 February).
