The Kangaroo Island Racing Club will offer a $10,000 Trainer's Bonus for the upcoming 2023 racing season.
The Arthur Daw Memorial Trainer’s Challenge is on offer for the most successful trainer across the three meetings when racing kicks off at Kangaroo Island on January 21 before their famous two-day Carnival on Thursday February 16 and 18.
Named in honour of the former local who never hardly missed a Kangaroo Island Cup Carnival from the late 1970’s through until 2018, the leading trainer will walk away with a $7000 bonus, the runner-up getting $2000 and $1000 for third.
Trainers will be awarded four points for each winner over the three days of racing, two points for a second placing and one for third while five bonus points will be awarded to trainers who have runners on all three days.
The Kangaroo Island Racing Club in partnership with major sponsor SeaLink will be offering free transport for horses, trainers and strappers as well as on course stabling.
