Glen Kent is praying for sunshine ahead of Champagne Dreams’ second-up start in Saturday’s heat of the Gytrash Series at Morphettville.
“She just needs a dry track,’’ Kent said.
“We’ve accepted a couple of times this campaign hoping to find the right track but as you can see when you look at her form, she just doesn’t handle soft tracks.
“We’ve had the wettest winter down here (Finnis) for 10 or more years, it’s been really hard to get the gallops into her.
“The only time we’ve been able to see some really good work was when she galloped between races one day,’’ he said.
A winner of the Listed Redelva Stakes last campaign, Champagne Dreams finished last in a field of seven first-up from a spell behind Diamonds on October 15.
“Again that was all about the track,’’ Kent said.
“It’s frustrating, but the weather has to pick up soon.
“I’ve also probably been a little soft on her, so she has been carrying some extra condition,’’ he said.
