August was also a successful month for another rising star, as Stacey Callow claimed her first riding treble at the Morphettville midweek meeting, the same week she was granted her metropolitan licence.

Callow rode two winners for boss Jon O’Connor as well as Trumpsta to victory for the Phillip Stokes stable.

She rode the most winners of the Racing SA Apprentice Academy in the month and boasted the best strike rate riding at 22 per cent runners to winners.

Alana Livesey’s good run continued with two riding doubles at Gawler and Quorn.

Apprentice riders also recorded milestone wins in two country cup features.

Felicity Atkinson kick started the month winning the Roxby Downs Cup aboard Lettemgo for Trevor Day while Kristo Sardelic claimed the Quorn Cup on the Kylie McKerlie-trained Fiable.
