2022 City of Port Augusta Cup - Recap

The Port Augusta Racing Club have been able to enjoy the fruits of their labor during the 2021/22 Racing Season, and the local community took advantage of this for the 2022 City of Port Augusta Cup.

With a breathtaking backdrop of the Flinders Ranges behind the track, the 1800+ crowd braved the cooler weather to take in a great day of racing and track-side hospitality courtesy of local community groups and volunteers.

Port Augusta Racing Club Secretary/Manager, Emily Holden was happy with the day.

"Our showcase meeting of the year was supported by the Port Augusta community, and we are extremely thankful of that.

"Along with this, we cannot thank the club volunteers enough. The work they put in to have the club looking as good as it does means everyone can enjoy a great day out," she said.

Off the track, the newly built playground proved a hit with kids and parents alike, with one Cup patron saying they were excited to return to the club.

"We used to attend the Port Augusta races quite often, but with no real space for kids we stopped attending.

"Now with a big grass area and the kids playground, we are looking forward to attending more race events each year," they said.

Coming to the end of the Port Augusta season, you still have a chance to attend on July 24th and August 14th.
