Oakbank FATR mens winner

Confidence, charimsa and a stage showman!

This was the make-up of the mens winner for the 2022 Oakbank Fashion At The Races. We spoke with winner, Trent O'Driscoll about his winning outfit and his preparation.

Tell us about your winning outfit. What were you wearing?

My winning outfit was red checkered pants, with matching red accents, a white shirt, with a blue blazer with red stitching. The pants were from Dangerfield, and the rest of the outfit was thrifted, the blazer is a Hugo Boss jacket which I then got tailored.

What process did you go through to plan and choose this ensemble?

Well, I entered the fashion show last year wearing almost the same outfit, but I didn’t have a hat. I was joking with mum that I only lost because I didn’t have a hat, so I wore one this year and well…. We were right

What was your first racing event and how has your style evolved since?

My first racing event was oakbank, ive been coming to the Easter Carnival as long as I can remember. My style has evolved massively since, as I’ve grown up and become aware of stylistic trends.

What are your favourite labels for racewear?

I don’t shop for labels. I just shop for items I like, regardless of the label.

How did you choose a hairstyle? What styling process did your locks go through?

For the styling process of my hair, I let my hair dry naturally and go curly. I then wore a hat so my hair wasn’t very important to my look

How would you describe your personal style?

My personal style, it’s a representation of myself. I like to express myself and my emotions in my clothing. Sometimes I wear very funky expressive clothing, sometimes I dress to the current trends, and sometimes it’s whatever I put on in the morning.

How do you spend your time when you’re not at racing events?

When im not at the races, I spend my time working. I work full time running a bar in the city (Therapy Cocktail Bar), so that takes up most of my time.

Why should everyone book in a day at the races this year?

Everyone should book a day at the races, as it’s a great day to dress up, relax, and have a day out with friends and family talking about everything and nothing!

Check out a selection of images from the day below.
