RACE 1 - 12:30PM Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (1200 METRES)
Looks a nice race for MAC ‘N’ CHEESE who won the Oaklands Plate here on the Parks last year and ran in the Atlantic Jewel in the spring. She resumes and is expected to measure up in better race. Top pick from the good gate. KNIGHTSTOWN has plenty of ability and ran 4th behind Extreme Flight at Sandown before chasing home Anamoe in the Caulfield Guineas. He looks well over the odds. JUSTAKIDD will appreciate dropping back to 3yo company after he came from a mile back behind Heyington Station here last start. HOPON HARRY is a nice horse resuming and is another who will have better races on his agenda. Victorian SURICATE was a Benalla winner on debut before an OK effort at Caulfield last time out. IMPOSING BROOK was a Sale winner before a good run on the Parks on Saturday. JAAZEB was back to winning form beating Courageous Hearts last time out.
SELECTIONS: 1 MAC ‘N’ CHEESE, 4 Knightstown, 7 Justakidd, 5 Hopon Harry
PLAY: Something each-way on JUSTAKIDD.
RACE 2 - 1:05PM Thomas Farms Cinderella Stakes (1050 METRES)
SEE YOU IN HEAVEN is an exciting filly who looked above average when she won down the Flemington straight on debut beating Satin Love. She looked good winning a recent trial, draws the perfect barrier and looks the one to beat. IMBIBE is on debut for the McEvoy stable and looked very handy winning a Morphettville trial by 5.5 lengths. She draws a tricky barrier but could be a danger. BISTRO was a Sandown winner in December and ran OK when 5th behind Miss Roseiano in a Blue Diamond Prelude last time. She should be in the mix. RUNAWAY BELLE has run well at two Melbourne outings and wears blinkers for the first time. PRANCE ‘N’ DANCE defeated Biographer two starts back before finding some trouble last time.
SELECTIONS: 1 SEE YOU IN HEAVEN, 7 Imbibe, 2 Bistro, 5 Runaway Belle
PLAY: Throwing SEE YOU IN HEAVEN into multis.
RACE 3 - 1:40PM G.H. Mumm Handicap (1600 METRES)
Tricky race. YULONG JUSTIFY ran OK behind stablemate Zoist in the Magic Millions at Murray Bridge last time out. He gets in OK after the claim and should give this a shake. LAKE’S FOLLY ended his luckless form with a big win on the Parks on Saturday. He can run another good race on the quick back-up. HEIR OF TAVISTOCK draws the inside and has been racing well without winning. TULLY’S GOLD broke through with an easy win at Murray Bridge last starts. DOES IT ran OK in the same race whilst PEARL BANDIT improved last time behind Black Sail and has a good record at the mile.
SELECTIONS: 2 YULONG JUSTIFY, 7 Lake’s Folly, 4 Heir Of Tavistock, 8 Tully’s Gold
PLAY: Happy to watch on.
RACE 4 - 2:15PM Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1050 METRES)
Another good race and happy to have something on GREAT DIVINER each-way. His best form is very good, and he hasn’t raced since making behind Lombardo on the Parks last year. He has a brilliant turn of foot and can get over the top of these. OKAY TO PAY was a Moonee Valley winner two starts back before leading when 4th behind Lady Solly over the 955m there last time. He draws a wide but will be handy to the speed and has been solid in early betting. HEYINGTON STATION was good beating Justakidd last time. Stablemate HIDDEN LEGEND is another with each-way appeal in a race like this. GREAT LEVELLER has been racing well and was OK when 4th behind Zorro’s Dream last starts. PARIANO draws a good gate here and was scratched from Saturday for this.
SELECTIONS: 10 GREAT DIVINER, 3 Okay To Play, 6 Heyington Station, 7 Pariano
PLAY: Something each-way on GREAT DIVINER.
RACE 5 - 2:50PM C S Hayes Memorial Cup (1600 METRES)
Should be OK speed here and ROYAL MILE can find winning form from a good barrier. He should have won first-up from short break when narrowly beaten behind Night Passage. He’s won three of five starts here. I liked the return of ECUMENICAL who stuck on well running 3rd behind Zorro’s Dream. The mile should suit, and she looks well over the odds given her record. FAROOQ draws the inside gate and should get a nice run. If he can run up to his first two runs back behind Outlaw’s Revenge, he can be in the finish. BLACK SAIL found winning form last time here and will roll forward from the gate, likewise, SPLASH SOME CASH is a bold front runner who has won the KI and Port Lincoln Cups at his past two. SECRET BLAZE had some handy form over further in the spring and has trialled well.
SELECTIONS: 5 ROYAL MILE, 6 Ecumenical, 3 Farooq, 1 Secret Blaze
PLAY: Backing ROYAL MILE and having something on ECUMENICAL.
RACE 6 - 3:30PM Terry Howe Printing Matrice Stakes (1200 METRES)
Another good race with MANHATTEN TIMES stepping up in class and taking on the older horses. He looked good beating Residue last time out and is a horse with plenty of upside but must overcome a tricky barrier. The class factor is the Will Clarken pair of SECOND SLIP and IRONCLAD. SECOND SLIP hasn’t raced since running 7th in the Chester Manifold behind Lighthouse and that is a very good form line. He draws a touch awkwardly but has a good fresh record. IRONCLAD has the barrier advantage. If he has overcome the foot issues that plagued his spring, he will take some beating from a good draw. His form in his first campaign was superb and both horses have trialled nicely. SANSOM has won four of six first-up and is a winner this track and trip. LARIMER STREET has been racing well and comes off a Murray Bridge win. PORT VALE can run a race at odds.
SELECTIONS: 13 MANHATTEN TIMES, 2 Ironclad, 3 Second Slip, 1 Sansom
PLAY: Another tricky race and staying out.
RACE 7 - 4:15PM TAB Adelaide Cup (3200 METRES)
TIGERTIGER ticks a lot of boxes here. He was too good for Skelm in the Bagot Hcp and was then freshened. His two runs back have been very good chasing home Crystal Pegasus who would run favourite here. He has a nice turn of speed and the 3200m should hold no fears third-up. SKELM is going super. He was game in the Bagot before proving beating Daqiansweet Junior in the Torney Cup last start. He draws wide but can make his own luck early and be right there at the business end. DAQIANSWEET JUNIOR won four straight before he looked to have his chance running 2nd behind Skelm in the Torney Cup last time. He draws a perfectly with Jamie Kah in the saddle. FUTURE SCORE might be the value. He has been placed twice at 2600m, the latest behind Crystal Pegasus at Flemington, and must be given some thought. AURORA’S SYMPHONY is a last-start Launceston Cup winner. She draws the outside gate but has Damien Oliver and is the one who has firmed since the barrier draw. GOOD IDEA was 2nd in the race in 2020 before winning last year. His form through the spring was OK but his latest behind Crystal Pegasus was average when he led and faded. DRAGON STORM is a two-mile winner but his past two have only been fair.
SELECTIONS: 6 TIGERTIGER, 1 Skelm, 5 Daqiansweet Junior, 3 Future Score
PLAY: Keen on TIGERTIGER.
RACE 8 - 4:55PM Morphettville Guineas (1600 METRES)
ANCIENT GIRL comes to Adelaide with some strong Victorian form winning at Sandown first-up from before running 3rd behind Barb Raider in the Group 3 Vanity last time. The wide barrier is the only concern, but she looks a filly with a bright future. MAX FIRE draws an inside barrier and can run a big race here. He was easy in betting before winning at Balaklava second-up and looks over the odds. SET THE SAILS was sent out favourite to win at Pakenham last time out. The McEvoy stable have WATER INTO WINE who won at Murray Bridge and has trialled OK while STRIKE EAGLE ran 6th behind Zoist at Murray Bridge last start. HARLEYMOVEN draws a nice barrier.
SELECTIONS: 15 ANCIENT GIRL, 1 Max Fire, 5 Set The Sails, 3 Water Into Wine
PLAY: Something each-way on MAX FIRE.
RACE 9 - 5:35PM Grand Syndicates Handicap (1200 METRES)
One more chance to SPARKUP who has been knocking on the door since winning here five starts back. His latest behind Struck By was very good and that form has stood up since. He’s another who was scratched from Saturday for this. SPIN THE REWARD looked very good coming off the speed to win first-up from a spell and is another who comes out of the Struck By race. He draws a middle gate and must be respected. MUNSTER was a good winner second-up at Murray Bridge and draws well. HILLS draws wide but has been racing well. THE DIFFERENCE has won two of three here. BIARCHI is a handy type who can run a race fresh.
SELECTIONS: 7 SPARKUP, 4 Spin The Reward, 3 Munster, 12 Hills
PLAY: Keen on SPARKUP.
