There is no doubt that where there is a country event, the locals turn out in droves to support.
This was the case for the 2022 Mini Jumbuk Naracoorte Racing Club Cup, with over 600 patrons celebrating the club.
We saw eight races on the track with enough off the track to keep everyone entertained, with the Waihape family enjoying the day.
"We come along to the Naracoorte races each year.
"The atmosphere is amazing and we really enjoy attending with the family," they said.
To compliment the eight races on the track with the horses, we saw the inaugural running of the 'Dash for Cash' pitting Limestone Coast sporting clubs against each other in a 100m race.
It was an extremely close race on the girls side with Naracoorte Netball Club's Ella Boston taking it in a photo finish. On the mens side, it wasn't as close with ex Port Adelaide and current Padthaway footballer, Tobin Cox showing his class finishing the race strong.
"The Dash for Cash was a great initiative that see's both runner and club take home some money, and we look forward to running it again in 2023," Naracoorte Secretary Belinda Neale said.
Belinda went on to say that it was one of the strongest crowds they have had for a few years.
"It was great to see the crowd turn out to enjoy the weather, and they were all amazing with the covid restrictions in place.
"The committee were amazing support leading in to the race day and assisted to ensure that the day ran as smooth as it could," she said.
Do you want to experience a day at the Naracoorte races, the next meeting will be held on May 8th.
