Big boy to face big guns in loaded Orr Stakes

Behemoth will continue his path to the $5m All-Star Mile in Saturday’s $750,000 C F Orr Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

Jamie Kah has been booked to ride the dual Group 1 winner who finished second behind Kemalpasa at his first run back from a spell in the Listed Durbridge Stakes in Adelaide. The David Jolly gelding is currently sitting fifth in All-Star Mile voting.

He headlines a mouth-watering Orr Stakes line-up that included rising star I’m Thunderstruck, the James Cummings pair of Cascadian and Colette and Anthony and Sam Freedman’s Sinawann after he finished second behind Marabi in the Group 2 Australia Stakes last time out. Behemoth currently sits on the fourth line of betting with tab.com.au.

Fellow Adelaide trainer Will Clarken has nominated Angel Like in the Group 3 Kevin Hayes Stakes following an eye-catching run over the 955m at Moonee Valley on Friday night while Ryan Balfour could go to Melbourne with Kenyan Wonder who is nominated for the Group 3 Geoffrey Bellmaine Stakes over 1200m.

Clarken has also nominated Angel Like in two races at Moonee Valley on Friday night and has Gosden entered, while Balfour has Picargo among Moonee Valley nominations.
