'Ride 4 Rob' - Darryn Murphy

The tight knit Murray Bridge racing community have come together in support of local trainer, Rob Wilkinson following the news of Rob's prostate cancer diagnosis late in 2021.

Having strong ties to the Wilkinson family through his current role with Skillinvest, former jockey, Darryn Murphy is jumping on his bike to take on the 90km ride from Morphettville to Murray Bridge on January 26th.

"I'm hoping to make it in time to join Rob and family before the first race jumps, and then celebrate the support for Rob," Murphy said.

Darryn's fundraising efforts have been great to this point, raising $2,641 which will support Rob and his family.

The goal for Darryn is to assist the Wilkinson family, but he will be pushing himself on the day.

"My first goal is to not get a puncture, but the hope is that for every minute under four and a half hours I finish the race I will be donating myself," he said.

There is plenty of time to donate to Darryn's 'Ride 4 Rob' with donations accepted on Darryn's go fund me page.
