Country Racing SA - 2022 gets underway

Sold out meetings across the board highlighted a fantastic December for SA's country race clubs. It was a great opportunity for the public to head to the races and experience something different, making the run in to Christmas a little more exciting.

It was a great finish to 2021 for the Country Racing clubs, but the action kicks back into gear with a big week of racing coming our way.

Tomorrow will be the first 2022 meeting for the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club, with CEO Shane Collins extremely pleased with the support shown to both Galwer and 23 country racing clubs.

“In what has been a very turbulent time for everyone here in Australia, right through to South Australia and our local community, it has been wonderful to still receive the amazing support from our Corporate Partners, members and patrons who have continued on with us in these challenging times", Collins said.

"Our Christmas Race Day was a huge success with a sold out crowd enjoying an opportunity to bring in the festive season, and we thank all of those who attended.

"While the entire hospitality industry works through these current restrictions and challenges it finds itself under, the support and positive response we have received as a sporting club has been greatly appreciated.

"Even our wonderful partners of the club, no one has wilted, questioned or sought any changes from supporting the club and more importantly racing here in Gawler, which is a great sign of sustenance in our partnerships that we are very proud of", he said.

There are still a few tickets remaining for tomorrow's race meeting, so should you be looking at getting track side jump on to Moshtix to secure your tickets today. You can spend the day at the races and the beach, with the club putting on a beach bar under the Wolf Blass Pavilion.
