Beau Rossa passes first clockwise test

South Australian galloper Beau Rossa ticked all the right boxes at his first serious hit-out winning a Rosehill trial in Sydney on Tuesday morning.

Queensland border restrictions has forced trainer Will Clarken to prepare the horse from Sydney for his first-up mission in the $200,000 Listed Falvelon Sprint (1200m) at Doomben on Boxing Day ahead of the $1m Magic Millions Snippets (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 15.

Jockey Jason Collett said the trial provided a perfect grounding for the horse racing the clockwise direction for the first time in his career.

“He bounced good,’’ Collett said.

“There was a bit of pressure in the trial, they flowed along even.

“He was fine off the bend and gave me no indication he’d never been that way before,’’ Collett said.

Prospective owners also have a unique opportunity with a 10 per cent share in Beau Rossa available via the Inglis Digital Sale where the current bid sits at $50,000 with bidding closing tomorrow.

It’s going to be a busy festive season for the Clarken stable, as planning continues to take He’s A Balter and Parsifal to Dubai after they were both placed at Listed level on the weekend.
