James Jordan's Saturday Speed Maps + Track Report

We're back racing on the Parks track at Morphettville tomorrow! Check out James Jordan's full track report and speed maps here.

TRACK REPORT

Winning Post-1500m: Nothing to report here. The grass has been cut at a medium length and the coverage is pretty solid. Walks a ‘4’ at present.

1500m-800m (back straight): This part of the track is almost always in good condition. No change today, should race well. Walked a ‘4’.

1300m-800m (chute): Another ‘straight-line’ area which handles racing well. Can’t find any lanes of advantage here.

800m-400m: The odd piece of wear and tear and the ground under foot isn’t overly compact. I thought lane 1 was a little less consistent than out slightly wider. But won’t impact the way they race.

400m-Winning Post: There’s even wear right across as a result of different rail positions over the past month. There’s some sandfill in different lanes as a result. The inside walks in better condition here than the previous section.

Verdict: Rail back to true for the first time since October 23rd, and there’s been some racing since. Rail positions have been 3m, 6m and 9m at meetings since so there’s wear in those lanes. The track walked a ‘4’ but the amount of irrigation applied overnight will determine how long the track stays in the ‘4’ range for. I think the usual Parks pattern will apply - harder to loop wide from the back.

Track walked at 10.30am Friday 3 December 2021.
