The Fleurieu Peninsula boasts some of the most picturesque destinations in South Australia, and one of those spots is only 58 kilometres from Adelaide.
Settled in 1839, Strathalbyn provides something for all interests staying true to its architectural heritage with beautiful gardens, river walks and boasting connections to some of the best wineries in the Fleurieu.
With key race meetings on November 28th, December 15th, and January 16th & 30th in 2022, whether you are looking at just going along for the day, or staying a little longer, the Strathalbyn Racing Club provides race goers with an amazing race day experience.
Whether you are already looking to attend, or still undecided, there is a case for making a weekend out of the trip and we will take you through some of the amazing food, wine and accommodation options at your disposal in a three-part series.
As it is likely to be the first to book out, accommodation options are first of the mark.
Picturesque views, location to township or history. No matter the accommodation you select from the list, there is no wrong selection.

If you want to ‘stay in’ and cook for yourself, the motel offer BBQ facilities, which you can enjoy in the private courtyard of your room.
Located on a working farm property, Evansdale Villas are self-contained and provide amazing views of the hills and cattle grazing in the fields. Being a little further out of the Strathalbyn township, staying at Evansdale is likely to be an experience within itself.
