A return to Sydney could be the key to unlocking an elusive Group 1 win for talented South Australian Dalasan.
The dual Group 3 and Group 2 winner, Dalasan has been placed at Group 1 level on three occasions, twice during a successful Sydney autumn which prompted the stable to head north after an encouraging effort in the Group 1 Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield.
“He’s ready to go now,’’ co-trainer Andrew Gluyas said on RSN’s Racing Pulse.
“We pencilled in the miles as the anchors, his autumn form was pretty good, so no excuses now for him,’’ he said.
The $1.5m Epsom at Randwick looks an ideal race for the entire who has drawn perfectly in barrier eight and carries just 55kg with Australia’s best jockey James MacDonald booked.
“We think he gets in quite well,’’ Gluyas said.
“He should get a nice run and he should be right around the mark,’’ he said.
At Morphettville, Gluyas said they have three runners all with chances including So You can who has drawn well at his third run back from a spell.
“He’s had a couple of runs now, we’re hoping from barrier three he can put himself in the race,’’ Gluyas said.
