Jordan Joins Oakbank Committee

Oakbank Racing Club have finalized the replacement process for outgoing committee member, and past Chairman, John Glatz OAM with James Jordan from Racing.com.

Club Chairperson Arabella Branson had this to say;

"The Oakbank Racing Committee are delighted to have James Jordan join our team. Racing industry enthusiasts and participants alike will be familiar with James from his regular appearances on Racing.com as a commentator and form analyst.

"As a Committee member, James will strengthen and broaden our existing Committee skill set with his extensive knowledge of racing both in South Australia and nationally.

"That knowledge, together with his media qualifications and experience, will assist the Oakbank Racing Club achieve our mission for continuous improvement of our major race days and, in particular, our iconic annual Easter Oakbank Carnival.”

Strong ties to both the racing industry and Adelaide Hills, the appointment of Jordan is one that will ensure continuity for the Oakbank Racing Club, and he shared this;

"I'm really looking forward to getting involved with the Oakbank Racing Club and getting the chance to join the team is both an honor and privilege. I've been attending the Easter race meets there for more than twenty years and living locally for the last four years has really strengthened my bond with the club and the community.

"I'm hoping that my knowledge of the industry, particularly the wagering side, can be of benefit to the club and I'm very much looking forward to rolling my sleeves up and trying to have a positive input wherever possible.

"I've had the opportunity to work with Club CEO Shane Collins and Chair Arabella Branson through my role with Racing.com and I'm excited about the prospect of working with them and the rest of the committee for the betterment of the club.

"There isn't a racing club in the state with a history as rich or diverse as Oakbank, but it's the future I'm hoping to influence.”

The appointment of Jordan is one that will have an impact leading in to the 2021/22 Racing season.
