VALUE: OUTLAWS REVENGE (Race 2)
RACE 1 - 12:31PM Leconfield Handicap (1200 METRES)
Looks a nice race for MISS JANE who was game behind Savatoxl last time out and draws to get a nice run from barrier four. She led throughout on the Parks at her previous outing and looks well placed with the claim for Jess Eaton. DESIGNER CHEF has some handy Victorian form, winning at Moonee Valley over 1200m five runs back. He was a winner at Pakenham two starts back and that form is good enough for a race like this. CALL IT A DAY had some specking first-up in SA at a price when he was only beaten 1.4 lengths behind Li’l Kontra. He draws barrier two and expect him to give this a shake. VIDDUKA has been runner-up twice in three starts here, was OK behind Little Rich Boy last time out and is down in the weights. LIKE A HEARTBEAT is racing well and gets into this well down in the weights.
SELECTIONS: MISS JANE, Designer Chef, Call It A Day
RACE 2 - 1:06PM Furphy Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate (1050 METRES)
ZOUSHINE has talent and was heavily backed first-up at Ballarat when solid behind Written Miss, before a good effort in the Group 3 Red Roses at Flemington. This is a much easier assignment. Ryan Balfour’s OUTLAWS REVENGE could be a danger. He draws out but has been very good in winning two recent jump-outs – and the stable is ticking along nicely. DAILY SPIRIT resumes and did win a recent trial. She was $3 into $2.40 behind Instant Celebrity here back in June and was placed behind All Banter on debut. HELLO LADIES ran well behind Rocabella on the Parks.
SELECTIONS: ZOUSHINE, Outlaws Revenge, Daily Spirit
RACE 3 - 1:41PM TAB Handicap (1050 METRES)
KIRINIA looks an improver here. Her first-up run behind Mileva was very good before she folded up after racing on speed last time. She draws a sticky gate but has plenty of talent. EXALTED ZOE has won three of six and was good beating Viduka on the Parks track before settling off the speed when a 3.2-length fourth behind Little Rich Boy last week. Back in trip and an inside gate with the claim are big pluses. MRS HYDE led and was only beaten 1.1 lengths by Li’l Kontra last time out. She’ll be right in the mix from a good gate and helped with a claim.
SELECTIONS: KIRINIA, Exalted Zoe, Mrs Hyde
RACE 4 - 2:16PM Peter Elberg Funerals Handicap (1528 METRES)
KYSHAKA is lightly-raced and ran well first-up on the Parks track. She’s fresh, maps well here and should be better suited on the outer track. Stablemate RIKIBOBBY has been good his past couple, the latest beaten just over two lengths at Geelong. EXALTED TRAVELLER was good behind Hankstar two back and looked to have the race in his keeping when he was worried out of it late behind Heir Of Tavistock last time. NONAME LANE has been good at both runs this time in. He draws out but must be respected. MOTELL was heavily backed to run favourite but was a hard watch when badly held-up at Balaklava behind Boomer Beach.
SELECTIONS: KYSHAKA, Noname Lane, Motell
RACE 5 - 2:56PM Happy 18th Hank the Dank Tank Handicap (1200 METRES)
HARPUNA was good behind Mrs Hyde first-up from a spell. He then went to Moonee Valley and led then up, only to be grabbed late by Corner Pocket. He draws a nice gate and is sure to give this a shake. PICARGO is talented and was sent out a short-priced favourite last start, but got back and just couldn’t reel in Glory Game at Balaklava. Back out to 1200m looks ideal. AMBIDAZZLE ran well last time out, while RUBBLE can run a cheeky race from a good barrier.
SELECTIONS: HARPUNA, Picargo, Ambidazzle
RACE 6 - 3:36PM Twilight Races at Morphettville - Friday Dec 18 Handicap (1100 METRES)
TAKEN OFF has won three of five starts and had a break after beating Thompson’s Reward on the Parks track back in September. He draws a good gate and looks the one to beat despite his big weight. BEEOKAY led over this trip here last week and was dominant beating Two Odd Sox. He draws the inside and the stable has a good record when horses back-up up. JUST CHIPPING AWAY comes off a good win over Trip last time out and that horse ran enormous at Listed level last weekend. ROCK HARD was back to winning form last time and will ride the speed from barrier four, while STORM VOYAGER must be respected on her first-up win over ROCK HARD.
SELECTIONS: TAKEN OFF, Beeokay, Just Chipping Away
RACE 7 - 4:16PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (Heat Three Southern Speed Series) (2034 METRES)
RITRATTO has come back in great order and looks the testing material in a race like this. He draws to roll forward form his middle gate. The claim for Jess Eaton is a big help and he should be too smart for rivals. QUAFFANY looks the danger. She was good first-up from a break, making ground behind Magna Bella and gets out to a much more suitable trip here. CONFUSION has too much speed for rivals when he come off the speed to beat Getouttheway back in class. This is harder but he must be respected. STAR STATUS draws a nice gate and was too good for Allusion two starts back. He was a touch one paced last time but won’t be far away. VON COSTA GLASS has a good record here and gets in well with the claim.
SELECTIONS: RITRATTO, Quaffany, Confusion
RACE 8 - 4:56PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1050 METRES)
LI’L KONTRA was super first-up, coming off the speed on the Parks track and defeating Port Vale. She’s much better suited here on the outer track but draws a sticky inside gate. Her best form is very good and she look hard to beat. BIG EFFORT is the interesting runner. He has talent, but hasn’t been seen since running down the track at Flemington last year. He’s won five of 15 and Simon Price is booked to return from NSW to ride. THE CRUSHA was a Horsham winner three starts back and draws a good gate with Todd Pannell booked to ride. AADELAD maps to get a good run, while LITTLE RICH BOY draws out and will need some luck.
SELECTIONS: LI’L KONTRA, The Crusha, Big Effort
RACE 9 - 5:36PM Dominant Handicap (Heat Five Alcopop Series) (1600 METRES)
ZOULAH is a big watch here. She’s lightly raced and hasn’t been seen since running in some good three-year-old races during the carnival. She was a winner at Sale and Ballarat last preparation and that looks pretty good form for a race like this. She’s also trialled nicely behind Big Effort for her return. HERE COMES LENNI was very good first-up in SA for the Clarken stable, running second behind Left Hand Man, and looks nicely suited in a race like this, despite the weight. MASTERATI is shooting for three wins on the bounce and draws to be on speed again. The claim for Teagan Voorham is a bonus and he will take some running down. MAGNETIC EDGE was very good coming off the speed to run down rivals last time and draws an inside gate. NAKHEEL didn’t do a lot first-up but has the blinkers on here and the in-form Jason Holder riding. EXTREME THRILL is racing well and sure to be in the mix down in the weights with the claim.
SELECTIONS: ZOULAH, Here Comes Lenni, Masterati
IMAGE: Ritratto winning easily at Morphettville last month.
