Lincoln Moore's Morphettville Preview

BEST BET: LORNE (Race 4)

EACH-WAY: SONIC DEED (Race 6)

VALUE: WAR CHEVAL (Race 2)

RACE 1 - 11:41AM Furphy / SABOIS Maiden Plate (1600 METRES)

The market has this race in two with CASHIN’ CHEX and NONAME LANE. The top weight CASHIN’ CHEX was very good behind Deep Speed who was impressive winning at the Valley on Friday night and then solid again behind You Hadme At Hello. Barrier four and Kayla Crowther ticks plenty of boxes. NONAME LANE chased home Star Of Uma who has won since when resuming and won a trial since that. He draws out but has the Clarken/Pannell combo. CHRYSOS trialled only fairly before an average first-up run but does look an improver. MISSALLURE could be a blow out first-up in SA, the Stokes horses usually run well when they drop back in class.

SELECTIONS: NONAME LANE, Cashin’ Chex, Missallure

RACE 2 - 12:21PM Fleurieu Milk Company / SABOIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1050 METRES)

NALEIGH gets her chance here from a good gate and finished off well behind Tradewind last time. That’s good form for a race like this. ROCABELLA defeated Crown Mint in two trials earlier in the year before debuting at Oakbank in March when 3.7 lengths behind Amish Boy. Draws out but obviously has ability and looks well suited here for her return. WAR CHEVAL had jumped out smartly before his debut when he sat on the speed but couldn’t match an impressive Allez Sur Le Gris. He gets the tongue tie on for his first up assignment and looks well over the odds. SEA WITNESS comes here on the back of two placings in Victoria and was in the market when he made good ground behind Jungle Sensation at Moe last time. BARACONI was sent out favourite and finished off OK at Gawler last time. Her form from early in the year would be hard to beat here.

SELCTIONS: WAR CHEVAL, Naleigh, Rocabella

RACE 3 - 1:01PM TAB Long May We Play / SABOIS Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

Nice race with a couple of handy types. I’m happy to go with BEAU ROSSA at the price, he has shown ability in both runs. He got a long way back and powered home behind Yule My Hero on debut as a two-year-old and then resumed with a good effort when he got a long way back behind Amuri here. He draws out but will likely get back and this is his chance out to 1200m. NICCONI EXPRESS was well tried on debut and was only run down late by Dantree. His trial previously was good and he’ll give this a big shake. They look the horses with the right form. SHORT STORIES is a stablemate of BEAU ROSSA and won a Morphettville trial late last month. He does draw very wide in a big field. SHADOW BOOM has been knocking on the door in similar class and draws a nice gate.

SELECTIONS: BEAU ROSSA, Nicconi Express, Shadow Boom

RACE 4 - 1:45PM TAB Create Your Spring Calendar Handicap (1100 METRES)

LORNE was an easy winner against weaker class at Strathalbyn last timeout. Her debut at Geelong was sound and she looks right in a race like this from a good barrier. PICARGO is a promising type who was a Gawler winner back in January. He followed up with a good run behind the talented Just Zerene and ran well in town behind Lunar Light and Perfect Route which is a good form for this. He’s had a recent trial but draws out. He’ll be right in this and the Ryan Balfour stable is striking form. SALOME had jumped out well prior to her debut when only beaten 3.8 lengths at Morphettville. She draws well and can improve. ASTON RAPOVA has specking at a price and got the job done at Gawler last time. He draws to be right in the mix. THE HAITIAN POET will find this harder than last time out when he was too strong for moderate opposition. ENLIST was a good winner at Naracoorte last time out but this is harder.

SELECTIONS: LORNE, Picargo, Salome

RACE 5 - 3:00PM Porsche Centre Adelaide Handicap (1800 METRES)

MEEHNI won her maiden at Balaklava five runs back and has been favourite at three of her past four which have all been strong. She draws a good gate and getting out to 1800m looks ideal. MEADOWS YOUNG BUCK looks the early speed in the race and did lead throughout to beat Rapid Raiser at Gawler last time. The step up in distance won’t be an issue. FLYING PIERRO was a good Gawler winner two starts back before running down the track behind Darlamax. He can improve in a race like this. CANFORD draws a good gate and can run into the multiples.

SELECTIONS: MEEHNI, Meadows Young Buck, Flying Pierro

RACE 6 - 3:41PM AAMI Handicap (1100 METRES)

Looks a nice race for SONIC DEED who is three wins from 11 here and defeated Chucky four starts back. Was placed behind Alleboom, who is fav in Melbourne, two runs back before chasing home General Mint last time. She draws a nice gate, stable is ticking over nicely and the $5.50 each-way in early markets is appealing. EXALTED GOLD draws out but will press forward and was only reeled in late by Action In Cairns last time. ISSARA’S best form is good enough for a race like this and was a winner on the Parks track three starts back. AFTER YOU followed a good debut with a Gawler maiden win last time and draws a nice gate. CELINE was a Balaklava winner three back and resumes here.

SELECTIONS: SONIC DEED, Exalted Gold, Issara

RACE 7 - 4:21PM Zilzie Wines Handicap (1200 METRES)

Not a race I’m super keen on. MOTELL is lightly-raced and draws a nice gate. He was stretched out to 1700m last campaign, ran really well first-up behind Beeokay and looks hard to beat from the good gate. COTILLION is fitter for one run back and did defeat Gougers on the Parks track back in March. TWICE FORGOTTEN is racing well, has won two of her past four at Murray Bridge and wasn’t far away at Gawler last time. She’s good value. MASTERATI was placed here two starts back before a good run behind The Publikin. VALLIANO scored a good odds last time at Murray Bridge and draws a nice gate. RUBBLE is first-up for Karen Byrnes and did win four (placed four) of 22 back in NSW and is a winner fresh. HE WILL BOOM draws an inside gate and is a second-up winner.

SELECTIONS: MOTELL, Cotillion, Twice Forgotten

RACE 8 - 5:01PM Terry Howe Printing Skybeau Stayers Series Final (2500 METRES)

Good race with a lot of form. DARLAMAX is flying and draws a perfect gate here. He’s versatile, led last time, was dominant and has one of the best riders in staying races on board in Jason Holder. RESURGE is flying and deserves to break through. He reeled off some good late sectionals last time behind Darlamax and draws a nice gate. ACE OF CLUBS has been ultra-consistent this campaign and didn’t shirk the task last time. Getting back to 2500m looks ideal for him. CHAROSSA draws to be right in the mix from a good gate, he looks ready for 2500m and over the odds on his best. HASTA LA FIORENTE was strong late behind Sebonna last time and has been placed at all three starts this track and trip. KARPOOL KHAN is a horse on the up and was strong beating Pay The Man at Murray Bridge last time out. He’s lightly-raced and has a lot of upside. DR DEPENDABLE is another who will be right on speed and has been racing well in similar class. LOOKING AROUND is a winner this track and trip and did improve last time around.

SELECTIONS: DARLAMAX, Resurge, Hasta La Fiorente

RACE 9 - 5:37PM Weslo Security Handicap (1050 METRES)

Keen to go with PALE ALE who looks nicely suited here he won well at Oakbank two starts back and wasn’t far away behind Twice Forgotten last time. He’s freshened and back to the 1050m and sure to run well from a good gate. LANCASTER SOUND is short enough in the market. He’s lightly-raced and draws a nice gate here and was only fair last time out. VEGAN won his maiden at Port Augusta in May and ran well behind The Raven at Naracoorte. LOHN RANGER draws out but gets into this good with a claim. WOULDA THOUGHT SO has claim on his form back in July and has Jason Holder in the saddle.

SELECTIONS: PALE ALE, Lancaster Sound, Woulda Thought So
