Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: SEEMINGLY DISCREET (Race 7)

EACH-WAY: THOMPSON’S REWARD (Race 5)

VALUE: GOING GAGA (Race 8)

RACE 1 - 12:21PM Holdfast Insurance Handicap (1400 METRES)

AQUEDUCT was super impressive at his Australian debut when he bolted in by 6.1 lengths at Murray Bridge before backing that up with another impressive 3.3-length win here last month. He’s been kept fresh, stays at 1400m, should find the lead from the good gate and deserves to be a short-priced favourite. WINGS OF PASTRAMI looks the logical danger. She had good support first-up from a spell and was only beaten two lengths behind Thompson’s Reward. Her three-year-old form was very good for a race like this and the blinkers go on. CLASSIC WEIWEI has a good fresh record and draws well, but is probably going to be best suited over further. ARKHAM KNIGHT ran well last week but would prefer in wetter conditions. SERIOUS SPENDER will appreciate getting out to 1400m and she ran well behind Lakhani Rose first-up. BEDAZZLED’s two runs in SA have been good behind The Difference and Alsvior. Watch AQUEDUCT's last start win here.

SELECTIONS: AQUEDUCT, Wings Of Pastrami, Serious Spender

RACE 2 - 12:56PM AAMI Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (Heat 7 Rebel Raider Series) (1000 METRES)

KEEP ON BOPPING was $2.30 into $1.80 on debut but was not match for stablemate Quietly Discreet, who franked the form winning again a week later. He draws out but Jason Holder takes the ride and he’s sure to give this a shake. AMURI had specking on debut in a strong Cap D’Antibdes in Melbourne and was only beaten 4.5 lengths. She’s back to Adelaide, draws the inside and is sure to find this an easier task. Stablemate MAYSHESTAR has been favourite at both starts in Victoria where she has shown speed and she draws to be forward. BETTER jumped-out well at Morphettville recently and the Jon O’Connor stable is going along nicely. BEAU ROSSA is resuming and has trialled nicely for his return. He was narrowly beaten on debut and has claims despite a wide gate. Stablemate GAZE GRISE wasn’t knocked around in a recent jump-out at Morphettville and did have specking on debut in the Queen Adelaide in May. ASTON EXPRESS trialled behind Mileva back in January but looked good in a recent Strathalbyn jump-out. THE ORACLE won a recent Strath jump-out.

SELECTIONS: AMURI, Beau Rossa, Gaze Grise

RACE 3 - 1:31PM TAB Create your Spring Calendar Handicap (Heat 1 Skybeau Series) (1950 METRES)

Even field and the barrier draw has made this is even more tricky. ALLUSION has two wins and a second from three starts on the Parks track and he closed well late behind Somerset Maugham last time. He draws a tricky wide gate but looks ready for the 1950m and Barend Vorster has opted for him ahead of stablemate BOX ON COLLINS, who is back in trip (though his past two efforts have been good). DARLAMAX finished hard to nail Ace Of Clubs on the line last time, and that form line is solid for this. JAGUARY draws a gate to improve and his best would be right in this. EL DESPERADO had good backing to win the Mindarie-Halidon Cup at Murray Bridge last time and draws well. AZZUREOUS was strong through the line winning at Balaklava last time, but is back in trip. Watch ALLUSION's last win here.

SELECTIONS: ALLUSION, Darlamax, Box On Collins

RACE 4 - 2:06PM Furphy Handicap (1000 METRES)

ALLEBOOM defeated So You Can at Balaklava on debut and resumed with a good effort when he finished off well behind Mileva here four weeks ago. Most recently he was sent out favourite at Balaklava and was only fair behind Champagne Affair, but has the blinkers on and this looks a winnable race. BEEOKAY has been racing pretty well and stuck on well behind Fearless Vision last week. He’s on the back-up, which works well for the Grant Young stable, but has plenty of weight. HILLS is a former Tony McEvoy-trained mare who has joined the Will Clarken stable and didn’t do a lot in a Gawler trial. MAGIC DEE and SONIC DEED both draw handy gates.

SELECTIONS: ALLEBOOM, Beeokay, Hills

RACE 5 - 2:46PM Chalk Hill Handicap (1000 METRES)

TAKEN OFF is two from two this track and trip and there was plenty to like about his win last time, flashing late to beat THOMPSON’S REWARD, who has won since. He’s got a lot of upside and is the top pick again. RULER BY CHOICE draws wide and had to work early before he was run down by Lakhani Rose last time. Barend Vorster has gone with stablemate DIMAGGIO, who was too good for Calypso Reign at Murray Bridge back in June, before an OK effort behind Instant Celebrity last time. He gets the blinkers for the first time. THOMPSON’s REWARD was very good coming from the back to beat Miss Jane and One More Jack last time. He’ll get a good run and is aided by the claim. MAGIC SUNSET ran really well first-up but stays at the 1000m and faces a slightly sticky gate. COSMIC RHAPSODY is first-up for Travis Doudle and has raced in stronger company. Betting will be the best guide to his first-up chances. SAORSA is a former Victorian now with the Jon O’Connor. Watch TAKEN OFF's last start win here.

SELECTIONS: TAKEN OFF, Thompson’s Reward, Dimaggio

RACE 6 - 3:26PM Mitch is Getting Hitched Handicap (1300 METRES)

Plenty to like about VANCITY Gem, who was strong through the line on debut at Balaklava. She had trialled well in the lead-up but draws out, which could prove tricky. LADY DUNMORE worked hard when she finished at the back of a six-horse field last week but was only beaten just over two lengths. TRIDENT was well in the market but only fair, beaten 5.5 lengths behind Midships. He’s drawn out but showed talent back in New Zealand and looks an improver here. SHEZA LITTLE POSH has a win and three seconds from five starts on this track and draws the inside. Watch VANCITY GEM's last start win here.

SELECTIONS: VANCITY GEM, Trident, Lady Dunmore

RACE 7 - 4:06PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1250 METRES)

Race of the day, with a couple of very good horses in SEEMINGLY DISCREET and ONE MORE JACK clashing. SEEMINGLY DISCREET was brilliant when winning by three lengths first-up from a spell. She would have been hard to beat in the Wylie before she was scratched with a setback. Draws a tricky wide gate but she has an X-factor. ONE MORE JACK was massive first-up from a spell when he worked overtime and was only grabbed late by Thompson’s Reward. He draws to lead and is going to give them plenty to chase on the Parks track. HYPERCANE is a promising type who races well here. He finished second behind Game Keeper in the Adelaide Guineas before two good runs in Melbourne. He’s probably going to need further but is a progressive type. MAGNA BELLA draws to get a nice run, did her best work late first-up and is a winner at her only start here. The big watch is DON’TDREAMIT’SOVER on debut for Michael Hickmott. He was a winner over 1400m at Wetherby in the UK last May but hasn’t raced since June last year. He looked pretty good in a recent jump-out at Murray Bridge behind Behemoth and the stable is low-flying. STREET LIFE gets the blinkers again, while SOUL FIRE was good behind Deep Dive last time. Watch SEEMINGLY DISCREET's last start win here.

SELECTIONS: SEEMINGLY DISCREET, One More Jack, Don’tdreamit’sover

RACE 8 - 4:46PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 10 - Nov 7 Handicap (1550 METRES)

PEARL BANDIT is racing in great form, winning two of his past three, both on the outer track. He’s back slightly in trip from the mile to 1550m and drawn a touch sticky, but he won his only start this track and trip, so it’s impossible to knock him. MEEHNI was runner-up here two back behind Austin Raider and ran well behind PEARL BANDIT last time. He meets the winner two kilograms better at the weights. GOING GAGA is another back in trip but races really well here, with three wins and eight placings from 18 starts. AUSTIN RAIDER scored at this track and trip two back at big odds before being beaten almost six lengths next time out. Watch PEARL BANDIT's last start win here.

SELECTIONS: PEARL BANDIT, Going Gaga, Meehni

RACE 9 - 5:26PM Happy 50th Patto Handicap (Heat 4 Viddora Series) (1250 METRES)

TRIP is going super and stepped up in ‘trip’ to run rivals off their feet at Balaklava last time. Her previous two efforts were very good. She meets LADY BETHANY better at the weights from when they met two runs back and is sure to give a sight here on the Parks track. LADY BETHANY has won three of five here and came off the speed to run down TRIP here last time. MADE IN MILAN was specked at a price and was too good for Rohlon Drunk here last week. She’s on the quick back-up but is nicely drawn. COTILLION draws a nice gate, has a good fresh record and also likes this track and trip. LADY PAVLI CHENKO draws poorly but was game in defeat at the hands of Lakhani Rose last time and must be respected.

SELECTIONS: TRIP, Lady Bethany, Cotillion
